Grupo Wal-Mart Stores pretende adquirir US$ 2 bilhões em consoles usados
O Wal-Mart Stores anunciou nesta
terça-feira (18) que vai permitir que consumidores troquem videogames
usados por qualquer produto, de alimentos a aparelhos eletrônicos, em
todas as suas 3.100 lojas nos Estados Unidos a partir de 26 de março.
O
serviço de troca aceitará jogos para consoles populares como o
PlayStation 3, da Sony, e o Xbox 360, da Microsoft. Os consumidores
poderão utilizar os créditos da troca dos jogos para comprar qualquer
item no Walmart e no Sam's Club, em lojas físicas e online, disse o
Wal-Mart.
"Videogames continuam a ser um negócio importante para
nós e estamos ativamente mirando a oportunidade de US$ 2 bilhões em
videogames usados", disse Duncan Mac Naughton, vice-presidente de
marketing e merchandising para a Walmart U.S. em um comunicado.
Os jogos entregues como troca serão revendidos pela rede de varejo ainda neste ano.

Wal-Mart Stores announced on Tuesday (18) that will allow consumers to exchange games used for any product, from food to electronic gadgets, in all of its 3,100 stores in the United States from March 26.
The exchange service will accept games for popular consoles like the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Xbox 360 from Microsoft. Consumers may use the credits from the exchange of the games to purchase any item at Walmart and Sam's Club in physical stores and online, said Wal-Mart.
"Video games continue to be an important business for us and we are actively targeting the opportunity of U.S. $ 2 billion in used video games," said Duncan Mac Naughton, vice president of marketing and merchandising for Walmart U.S. in a statement.
The games will be delivered as exchange resold by retail network this year.
